Hypnosis is defined as a natural, yet altered state of mind in which ‘critical thinking’ is relaxed and selective thinking is maintained. In this deeply relaxed, yet focused state, one can access the subconscious mind which is more open and responsive to positive suggestions. Hypnosis is also a skill, which means that the more we practice the better and easier we get at entering into the state of trance. Accessing the deep part of the mind opens a world of possibilities. We will work together using hypnosis and the hypnotic state to help to soften the ‘critical factor’, the gatekeeper to the subconscious. For many people that could be the monkey mind, the voice in your head that might sound like your personal skeptic and life narrator!

Think of your life so far as the complete collection of all the social, cultural and environmental conditioning that you have accumulated along the way. Conditioning and programming from your parents, school friends, authority figures (like a teacher or a doctor), maybe even your work colleagues, etc. Along the way, you accepted certain beliefs, perhaps social expectations masquerade as “norms” that we should also accept.  As we continue to pack all this programming in, our critical-factor becomes the gatekeeper of the mind only letting in more of the same conditioning.

Some studies say over 90% of our thoughts are the same every day, some even say over 80% of our thoughts are negative! Consider then how difficult it would be to change the mind and let in new ideas.
